Lincraft has always been led by skilled retailers with a vision that has allowed the company to diversify and grow, with over 70 stores in Australia and New Zealand and exciting plans to open even more!

Owners John Maguire and Brian Swersky established Lincraft Australia in 2005, with the retail chain specialising in craft, fabric, yarn, haberdashery, window furnishings, manchester and fashion accessories. The business prides itself on valuing the ever changing and evolving world of craft, sending our most passionate buyers to the ends of the earth to the world’s major craft, yarn and fabric fairs, with strict instructions to source the latest in fashion and creative ideas, and return with fresh inspiration.

Their aim is to inspire – and they know that nothing is more rewarding than creating something with your own hands. Once the love of craft starts, it can be difficult to stop! That’s the inspiration behind Lincraft’s “How To Make” series – bags to bolero’s, slippers to hoodies, patchwork quilts to Christmas scrapbooks - an entire library of free projects that are easy to do, hard to resist and available in store or online.

Like any craft, they've perfected theirs by giving their valued shoppers the largest range of quality products at the best price. The Lincraft Price Guarantee promises that if you find a cheaper price on a stocked item - we will beat that price by 15%.*

John Maguire was born in Gisborne, New Zealand. He comes from a family of a tractor driver and an online model. His mother, Anny, used to work as a live dealer of a Spin Palace online casino. At that time this kind of a Job was something bright new and extraordinary. John, being a young boy, was in awe of an atmosphere of luxury and wealth. He was inspired by the stories of people who went to an online casino in order to have a good time in the evening - and gone out already as winners of the jackpot. At the age of 13, he promised himself that will succeed in life not later than at the age of 30. And it will not matter for John Maguire - rather he would win at roulette, or create his own business. In 15 years, he came up with a name for his success story - Lincraft.
